Two Sides of a Coin's latest event, "Shopping
and Schmoozing Holiday Style"
at Gilda's Club NYC was a huge success!
|
|
With 26 designers/vendors spread around the
lovely townhouse exhibiting unique and creative
items like handmade earmuffs crafted from cashmere
and crystal, handbags made from old blue
jeans, or jewelry designed with natural stones,
there was quite a wide variety of great gifts to
choose from. A yummy cooking demonstration by new
cookbook author Maria Liberati added spice to an
already action packed and fun filled day!
Silent auction items like jeans signed by Melissa
Etheridge, or theatre tickets to Jersey Boys brought
in a nice chunk of change! We're thrilled to announce
that over $8,000 was raised at this event! Thanks
to all the designers and attendees for their support!

On August 14, 2005, Two Sides of a Coin Productions produced an evening entitled: One Wicked August Night to benefit Gilda's Club NYC.
|
|
Valerie hosted the event which included a fun marketplace with vendors selling beautiful accessories, official Wicked merchandise, yummy treats, Wicked tattoos and much more! Then it was on with the show, with 7 cast members from Wicked :
Adinah Alexander, Jerad Bortz, Anthony Galde, Saycon Sengbloh, Marty Thomas, Jennifer Waldman and pianist Matt "Doop Doop" Doebler. These talented and generous performers gave of their time to be interviewed, answer questions, perform and mingle with attendees. After doing two performances on Saturday and one on Sunday afternoon, they whizzed down to Gilda's Club NYC on West Houston Street to participate in the festivities. Over $1500 was raised for Gilda's Club NYC, an organization providing support services for people affected by cancer and their families and friends.
Here are some pictures from that wonderful night! |

Spit
It Out!
A
play with music, written by Amy Coleman
and Valerie Smaldone
Spit
It Out! is a comical and endearing look at
an unlikely friendship between two women that
develops when their paths in life collide.
Kara Angelo, a career driven successful television
talk show host meets the down on her luck blues
singer, Hanna Cohen.
On
the outside these women would appear to have
nothing in common. When explored further, they
discover that couldn't be further from the
truth. It's the story of the transformational
power of friendship. Just finished a Summer
'05 run in NYC..
